Account Manager

Job Overview

The primary responsibility of the Account Manager is to drive revenue in assigned accounts and help ensure Client retention. He/She must be a goal oriented self-starter with outstanding relationship skills.

Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Account Manager is also expected to coordinate approach, identify need, strategize and deliver against the accounts needs. Other internal constituents include the executive & management team, professional services and Alliances. The Account Manager must be confident, capable and effective at integrating with a broad range of client personnel (from executive level, finance, and field operations) to ensure client success and the expansion of the solution footprint.

The Account Manager is expected to be both creative and proactive in the role and leverage ClickSoftware Executives and other internal resources.

The Account Manager will be required to maintain a solid understanding of the product set as offered directly and through the partner marketplace and be able to articulate same. Similarly, he/she should be intimately familiar with the partner ecosystem and how best to leverage it. The Account Manager must be able to clearly represent the value proposition in the context of the customer needs.

Position Duties

  • Take primary responsibility and accountability for alignment of client relationship to maximize solution adoption and ensure customer success

  • Maintain an understanding of ClickSoftware’s value proposition and products to ensure alignment with client project roadmap

  • Engage with Partner account team and/or internal resources as required to ensure joint goals are properly represented

  • Support the Industry Team when engaging with internal marketing, product and business development

  • Develop and maintain a sufficient in-depth knowledge of the accounts to participate and lead strategic long term opportunity creation

  • The Account Manager has overarching responsibility for the success of the accounts and as such, must direct and coordinate all activities undertaken by the accounts teams

  • Develop and maintain a multi-year plan for each of the assigned accounts

  • The Account Manager is required to attend the Quarterly Business Reviews

  • Ensure CRM (Salesforce) is updated in a timely and accurate manner

  • Willingness to travel as business requires

Required Skills/Experience

  • This is a sales driven role, requiring a minimum of 5+ years experience working with blue-chip clients selling enterprise level software solutions

  • Experience selling to Utilities and/or Telco industry preferred ; Experience in Field Service a plus

  • Exposure to product management and marketing is preferable

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

  • Effective, clear, and concise presentation skills

  • Ability to maintain excellent colleague and peer relationships

  • Degree in Business-related discipline
