The primary focus of this position is identifying and prospecting net-new business. You will be responsible for sales quota attainment through the development and closure of new business within our target accounts and new sectors, and following up on leads generated by our marketing and channel programs.
The Business Development Representative is often the first point of contact for ClickSoftware’s future customers, so it is important that you have a high level of energy, successful written and verbal communication skills, and an eagerness to work in a fast-paced organization with significant accountability.

This position builds relationships with key decision makers and acts as a customer’s guide to generate solutions that meet the customers’ needs and business objectives. Pre-call duties include using automated sales tools to perform research into prospective customers’ businesses and account information in order to develop appropriate selling strategies. In this role, you will gain experience interacting with prospects of all levels, in a variety of industries, and across a broad geographical area while being rewarded with a base salary and variable compensation plan (uncapped upside).
Success identifying key players and decision makers in the decision making process
Quota achievement through prospecting, identifying, and creating sales opportunities
Initiate outbound calls to prospective customers to identify sales opportunities by clarifying budget, decision makers, solution need and purchase timeframe.
Conducts prospective customer analysis to identify needs, determine the impact of products/services for customers, and identify which products, services and features to promote to potential customers to drive net-new revenue growth.
Provide prospective customers with detailed product information and explain product applications to potential customers via WebeX
Solicit information in a consultative manner using information gathering techniques such as asking open-ended questions, probing for details, and interviewing others to obtain pertinent
Effectively close new opportunities both independently and in strong partnership with the sales organization to achieve and exceed sales targets.

Capability and personally motivated to actively engage and learn products and technologies quickly, establish strong interpersonal relationships via the phone and show the ability to develop and close new business
2-3 years of sales experience, preferably in enterprise/SaaS software environment
Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent education/work experience required
Proficiency in use of Salesforce.com or similar CRM application
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated work-ethic and time management skills
