Ameren is an American electric and gas utility that serves customers in parts of Missouri and Illinois. Information Technology Development Supervisor Don Cline says his team was using a standalone workforce management system that was “at the end of its life.” The system wasn’t user-friendly or easy to modify, and all their maps and processes were paper-based.

It’s important that Ameren is able to respond immediately to their customers, especially in the case of an emergency. For instance, if there’s a power outage on a freezing day and someone’s heat turns off, a technician will need to be onsite before pipes start bursting. Without the right field service technology, it would be difficult to respond so quickly to customer issues.
