Having a mobile infrastructure and back office integration in place, there is a need to define the presentation layer and user work flows. Mobility Studio provides an easy to use, visual environment in which a developer selects from existing tools and Apps to modify the Starter Kit.
Starting simply, Mobility Studio enables the creation of new tabs within the application, each of which may have additional fields which display or capture information from the user. Beyond the ability to drag fields to or from the forms, business processes can be employed by configuring field behavior including:
- Form level validation
- Field level validation
- Field level data entry order
- Calculated fields
- Field population filters
Pre-integration with Sybase Unwired Platform (SUP) Mobile Business Objects (MBOs) further supports the drag-and-drop configuration of back office connections, ensuring even that part is both rapid and robust. The same MBOs can be used within multiple mobile applications, for multiple roles. Whether a customer profile is needed by a technician during a service visit, a supervisor handling an escalation, or a visiting salesperson trying to get an order; the same customer MBO can be dragged onto into the ClickMobile Starter Kit and configured to meet the role and business scenario.
Mobility Studio provides drag-and-drop support for creating mobile applications that run natively on laptops, as well as those that run on any smart phone or tablet device supporting HTML5+. Instead of writing code, or even web pages, Mobility Studio developers focus on the user’s work flow and ease of use. This extremely simple approach enables the designer to provide all the business intelligence that is needed in order to provide an office-like user experience regardless of her or her location.
